Notes

Sue Spaull is a London-based artist; working in oil, and using neo-classical painting techniques.

She exhibits regularly in London, and has had work shown on numerous occasions in the Mall Galleries as part of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ Annual Exhibition as well as in the Federation of British Artists’ Exhibition. In 2016, she was commissioned by the Old Vic Theatre to paint a portrait of Glenda Jackson for the publicity for her performance as King Lear, and her work is held in private collections.

Sue is Director of Programmes at The Art Academy, London SE1.

The Art Academy is a wholly independent art school based in central London, offering a wide range of art education programmes to a very diverse group of participants. Alongside the long-term courses (3-year Diploma in Fine Art, 2-year Contemporary Portrait Diploma and 1-year Fine Art Foundation), it offers evening classes, part-time study, and weekend and short courses.

Sue has strategic responsibility for all academic programmes at the Academy, as well as teaching painting and Studio Practice.  From September 2018, she leads the Academy’s new BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art.
