"I am a self-taught figurative painter with an interest in depicting mischievous and subversive actions. Each of my characters is caught in the act, on the verge of doing something that toes the line between the farcical and the threatening. Fingers point, figures giggle and sneer, while animals sit waiting in hands and cages, ready to be unleashed. Many of my paintings tip more into dreamlike scenarios, where sleepers are taunted by interjecting hands or props, or our hidden ticks and urges are brought to the forefront.
