Life on Venus | The Landscape, Timed Auction

Erna Simis is a Dutch painter and printmaker. She lives and works in Westerwolde, a rural region in the Netherlands. Her abstract work is influenced by temporality; the constant movement and change around us. She is fascinated by naturally, spontaneous formed shapes and textures. 

Erna Simis (1968, Amstelveen) grew up in Rotterdam. She studied painting and printmaking at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht (1986-1990) and continued her education until 1993 in Germany at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen. In 2017 she obtained a Bachelor Fine Art and Design in Education at Artez University of the Arts in Zwolle (2015-2017).
