RUFFMERCY a.k.a Russ Murphy is an animation director & artist based in Bristol, UK. After cutting his teeth at MTV in the late 90’s as a promo producer, he moved on to become a director of music videos, commercials and designer of album cover art. He has worked with a variety of artists including: Thom Yorke, The Chemical Brothers, Nas, J Dilla, Lilly Allen, Disclosure, Run The Jewels, Danny Brown, Ghetts, Stormzy, Freddie Gibbs, DJ Shadow, J.I.D, Nightmares on Wax, Horace Andy, Kendrick Lamar and many more. His work has been projected onto the sails of the Royal Opera House in Sydney and his film ’88 was shown at the Barbican Theatre as part of the Basquiat exhibition ‘BOOM FOR REAL’.
