Notes
A recent graduated of Camberwell College of Arts, Camila Quintero's "optical distortions" explore the dynamism of geometric abstract art.
Created during the winter months, the colour palette of this painting is inspired by the transitional, atmospheric light at the end of a winter's day. It is a light that emits a sense of "colourful gloominess".
"Winter blues does not only refer to the common feeling some of us have with the season but also to recreate the way that we look at the time and the atmospheric changes in relation with ourselves. We see colours differently and seasonal colours have differences that affect all of us."
"This painting is part of a series of works that focuses on the research and observations of our relationship with colour. Deconstruction and optical distortion are recurrent throughout my work and refer to the perceptual connection we have with our surroundings and the impact that they have on us."
Camila Quintero is also including Wavy in The Spring Auction.
