Allen Brewer (1974) born in St. Paul, MN. Commercial Illustrator 20 years, Professor of art and design 16 years, graduate of Cal Arts MFA
art school. Paintings, sculptures and wood carvings are made partly to challenge historical references, mostly favoring a self-aware
vulnerability within each piece. I see them as independent forms that communicate to themselves, while acknowledging the public spaces they inhabit. “BUTTT was painted while at CalArts, and truly informed my understanding of intent.”
