Courtney Love x Parliament Tattoo Charity Auction

Born in Newcastle, Claudia Smith moved to London 10 years ago and has been translating her artwork to skin for 5 years. Claudia has been a resident artist at Parliament Tattoo for two years and has really come out of her artistic shell.

Claudia’s artwork stems from being inspired by mythical creatures and the Brothers Grimm and Edgar Allen Poe’s stories beautifully depicted through a macabre style.

30 years on and the narrative of Mrs Jones is still unfortunately as relative as ever. 

Pretty on the Inside has such a unique and gritty approach to feminism. I wanted to mirror the aesthetic of the album by playing with the juxtaposition of something stereotypically feminine and pretty such as the pearlescent pink… against the bodies of dead children displayed in a vulgar way.
