Dd Regalo is a Canadian artist and poet living and working in London. He employs simple yet effective materials including charcoal and recycled newspaper collage giving his work a deeply personal and authentic feel to it. His hand-written poetic verses engrave the raw canvas like promises willing to be kept while the use of newspaper collage symbolises the message that we can write our own news – an empowering call to action waiting to be awakened. 

In Desire (Night Train), Regalo references the classic American play ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ by Tennessee Williams exploring the power of desire as the driving force behind peoples’ actions.
