Notes

John Taylor strives for simplicity, clarity and a harmonious colour palette in his work which draws inspiration from the St. Ives School.

The geometric language that is specific to John's work is often informed by his collage work where carefully chosen cut outs are arrange within the picture frame. Property of a Gentleman is painted using impasto oil to draw attention to the painterly nature of these works in comparison to the flatness of collage.
