James Dearlove is a graduate of The Slade School of Art in London and now lives and works in his studio on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. His paintings present a twilit, chimerical realm in which he explores both the desire and disquietude of the human experience.
He has exhibited at The Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy, The Discerning Eye Exhibition and numerous group shows. In 2021 James had his first solo show called “The Garden Room” at Nine Elms Gallery in London. He was also awarded the prestigious Ingram Prize; one of the UK’s leading prizes for emerging contemporary artists. His winning painting Figures on a Bed has now been acquired by the Ingram Collection.
